BOOM Esports has reclaimed its throne in dramatic fashion, capturing the 2026 Philippine Kings League (PKL) Spring Edition crown after a hard-fought 4-2 victory over Team Flash Philippines in the grand finals.

With the win, BOOM Esports etched its name in history as the league’s first-ever two-time champions, taking home $11,000 while Finals MVP Karl “Karlll” Bautista pocketed an additional $1,000.

The road to redemption was anything but easy. After finishing the regular season in second place with only a single loss to defending champion Blacklist International, BOOM Esports earned a direct entry to the upper bracket semifinals.

Yet, the team was stunned by sixth seed Team Flash PH in a 1-4 upset, forcing them into the lower bracket.

Team Flash PH rode their momentum, toppling regular season leaders Blacklist International in a nail-biting 4-3 best-of-seven Ultimate Battle series to secure their spot in the grand finals.

Meanwhile, BOOM Esports had to claw their way back, defeating TNT Tropang Alab and Blacklist International to set up a high-stakes rematch against the squad that had previously handed them defeat.

In the finals, Team Flash PH briefly turned the tide, erasing a 0-2 deficit to force Game 4. But BOOM Esports refused to be shaken.

“Nung natalo kami sa Team Flash, yun yung nagmulat sa amin na if we work as a team kaya namin kahit sinu. Itong season na ito yung pinaka naging challenging pero pinaka sweet na championship rin,” said top laner Miguel “Miggie” Banaag, reflecting on the squad’s resilience.

BOOM Esports regained control in Game 5, securing a 3–2 series lead in just 11 minutes, highlighted by Karlll’s explosive Lam performance that resulted in a triple kill and a decisive 4-2-3 KDA.

The championship-clinching Game 6 saw Reniel “Dr4w” Angara’s Lian Po deliver a critical two-man knockback, fueling BOOM’s final base push against Team Flash and solidifying their dominance.

With this victory, BOOM Esports not only celebrates a historic second PKL crown but also earns a ticket to the 2026 Honor of Kings Challenger Cup in May, where they will face elite teams from China and around the world.

In addition, BOOM Esports, Team Flash PH, and third-place Blacklist International will represent the Philippines at the upcoming Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC) in the Esports World Cup (EWC) this July in Saudi Arabia, showcasing the country’s finest talent on a global stage.

BOOM Esports’ triumphant return to the top proves that setbacks only fueled their drive, cementing their status as one of the region’s most formidable forces in competitive esports.
