Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) powerhouse TNT Tropang Giga are always on the lookout for young basketball talent in the country. Together with star player Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, they have launched the “RHJ On Tour” training camps to inspire aspiring athletes across the Philippines.
Tropang Giga have won back-to-back PBA championships and are currently competing in the All-Filipino Conference in pursuit of a coveted Grand Slam. The TNT management is eager to give back to its loyal fans and supporters, and “RHJ On Tour” serves as the perfect platform for community outreach.
Former NBA star and TNT’s superstar import, Hollis-Jefferson, is sharing his knowledge and experience with young basketball players nationwide. Joining him on the tour are teammates Jayson Castro, TNT team manager Jojo Lastimosa, and coaches Ranidel de Ocampo and Bong Ravena.
The “RHJ On Tour” kicked off on June 7 in Quezon City and will continue in various locations until the end of July.
“This is something truly special for me, as I’ve grown to feel like a Filipino at heart while playing for Tropang Giga. I see this basketball tour as a great opportunity to share my experience and encourage young Filipino players to chase their dreams and become the future of the game. I want to thank everyone who came out to show support, and I’m grateful the kids brought so much energy. They had a lot of fun,” Hollis-Jefferson said after his first training session.
“We were able to talk about the most important things in life: school, family, having fun, and enjoying basketball. We also emphasized the value of listening, respecting their parents, and taking in everything they learn at school—because these things will take them far,” he added.
For the Tropang Giga management, this initiative is both a marketing effort and a way to nurture the next generation of Filipino basketball stars.
“TNT and Smart have always championed youth basketball—a sport that’s part of our DNA. We’re happy to do our part by traveling across the country, and who knows—we might even discover a future star,” said Lloyd R. Manaloto, FVP for Brand Marketing at Smart Communications, Inc.
There is no better ambassador for this program than Hollis-Jefferson, who has been TNT’s import since 2023. He has consistently lived up to expectations, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest imports in PBA history. The power forward has led TNT to three PBA championships (two Governors’ Cups and one Commissioner’s Cup) and has been named PBA Best Import of the Conference three times.
