Veteran guard Stanley Pringle recently made history for the Terrafirma Dyip after becoming the first player from the franchise to reach the 5,000-point mark in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Pringle reached the exclusive club during Terrafirma’s 85–94 loss to the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City on Wednesday, June 4. The 38-year-old scored the 5,000th point of his PBA career at the 4:02 mark of the second half, becoming the 100th player in league history to reach the milestone.

The guard was honored by the PBA for the achievement and was officially awarded his plaque as the newest member of the 5,000-point club at halftime of Terrafirma’s game against the Blackwater Bossing on Sunday, June 8, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Pringle was elated upon receiving the plaque, revealing after the ceremony—alongside PBA commissioner Willie Marcial and Blackwater team governor Siliman Sy—that he was grateful for the recognition.

“I really felt grateful for the award. I’m more than grateful for being recognized for the 5,000-point record. You know, I’m one of the older players coming into the league and dealing with all of these injuries. I didn’t think I’d get into it,” Pringle stated.

Pringle is the 95th local player to reach the 5,000-point mark and the 15th among all active players. Notably, he is the first player in Terrafirma’s history to achieve the feat and the second player to reach the milestone this season after Meralco Bolts captain Chris Newsome.

The 38-year-old enjoyed five successful seasons each with the NorthPort Batang Pier and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel from 2014–2019 and 2019–2024, respectively, winning four PBA titles. It was with Barangay Ginebra that he earned his sole PBA Best Player of the Conference award during the 2020 Philippine Cup.

Pringle joined Terrafirma on July 13, 2024, after he, Christian Standhardinger, and a 2023 first-round pick were traded to the Dyip in exchange for Isaac Go, Stephen Holt, and another 2023 first-round pick.

In addition to four PBA titles and the 2020 Best Player of the Conference honor, Pringle was also named the 2015 PBA Rookie of the Year and is a seven-time PBA All-Star, among other accolades.
