Momentum can disappear as quickly as it arrives. Nxled learned that lesson the hard way in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference, where a promising 3-0 start has suddenly given way to uncertainty.
Back-to-back defeats to Galeries Tower and Akari have stalled what once looked like a smooth ascent, dropping the Chameleons to 3-2 and forcing a moment of reckoning early in the tournament.
The latest setback is a four-set loss to Akari, 25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 25-22. It exposed cracks that veteran Myla Pablo believes go beyond the stat sheet.
While Brooke Van Sickle led the team with 16 points, Pablo added 14 points and MJ Phillips contributed 12, Nxled struggled to sustain cohesion.
“Andami naming lapses na nangyayari sa game. Kailangan pa namin magtrabaho sa training. ‘Yung communication ng bawat isa nawala sa loob ng court, and nawala ’yung atake namin sa loob namin,” the 32-year-old opposite hitter said.
The Chameleons’ early-season rhythm — crisp ball movement, confident swings, and steady defensive coverage, seemed to fade during critical stretches. Instead of dictating pace, Nxled found itself reacting. Instead of finishing strong, it faltered in key rotations.
“In the next game talaga, kailangan namin i-training din pa kung ano ’yung mga kailangan namin gawin,” Pablo added.

As one of the team’s most seasoned leaders, Pablo understands that recalibration begins with accountability. She isn’t just calling for better execution — she’s pledging to embody it.
“Bilang beterano, kailangan kong iangat ’yung confidence ko,” she said. “Kailangan ako ng teammates ko at ng coaches ko, so kailangan ma-sustain ko ’yung confidence ko sa loob.”
That sense of ownership could be crucial as Nxled prepares for another litmus test against Choco Mucho on Tuesday, March 3, at the FilOil Centre in San Juan.
Beyond the standings, the matchup presents an opportunity to reclaim the sharpness that defined their opening run.
For the Chameleons, the goal isn’t merely to end a skid. It’s to restore identity — to rediscover the assertiveness and unity that once made them one of the conference’s early surprises. With Pablo setting the tone, Nxled hopes this brief stumble becomes a turning point rather than a trend.
