Cristiano Ronaldo, the legendary forward for Portugal and Al-Nassr, is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time. Over a career spanning more than two decades, Ronaldo has become synonymous with extraordinary goal-scoring ability, longevity, and a trophy cabinet filled with both individual and team honors—including five Ballon d’Or titles.

Now 40 years old, Ronaldo continues to defy age and expectations, scoring with remarkable consistency. As arguably the most decorated player in UEFA history, he holds an extensive list of continental records that solidify his place in football immortality.

Ronaldo added another accolade to his storied career after being named Middle East Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards 2025, held in Dubai on Sunday, December 28. The award recognizes not only his on-field excellence but also his role in elevating global attention to football in the Middle East.

The superstar reaffirmed his commitment to the sport, reiterating that he has no plans to retire anytime soon.

“It’s hard for me to keep playing, but the passion remains very high for me. I’m still very motivated, that’s why I’m playing. I always want to play football, win trophies, score goals. I want to keep going,” Ronaldo said.

“You know what my goal is. I want to win more trophies and reach the number that you know. I will reach 1,000 goals for sure, if I don’t have any injuries. God willing,” he added.

Ronaldo was not the only sporting icon honored at the Globe Soccer Awards. Tennis legend Novak Djokovic received the Globe Sports Award, presented to him by Ronaldo himself.

Ronaldo’s list of accomplishments speaks volumes. He has won the UEFA Champions League five times—once with Manchester United (2008) and four times with Real Madrid (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018). In 2024, UEFA recognized him with a Special Award as the Champions League All-Time Top Scorer, and he added a fourth European Golden Shoe to his collection the same year.

On the international stage, Ronaldo helped Portugal win the 2016 European Championship and the UEFA Nations League twice (2018-19, 2024-25). He is also Portugal’s all-time leading scorer, with 143 goals for his country.

Ronaldo’s career stands as a testament to unparalleled talent, relentless work ethic, and an unyielding hunger to be the best—qualities that have allowed him to dominate football for more than 20 years and remain a living legend of the sport.
