ESPN names Manny Pacquiao 37th best boxer in the world today

ESPN has released its annual boxing rankings and has ranked Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao in 37th place.

Pacquiao was unranked last year when he was still retired, but has now emerged in the top 40 after a stellar showing in his comeback fight against Mario Barrios, which ended in a majority draw.

The fight against Barrios proved that the eight-division champion still has what it takes to hang with boxing’s best, and even a potential title bout in the future, with many fans and pundits believing that the Filipino should’ve won instead of the draw.

Barrios, meanwhile, is ranked way below in 75th place, while Pacquiao’s potential opponent, World Boxing Association (WBA) world title holder Rolly Romero, broke into the rankings list at 70th place.
