WBC ranks Manny Pacquiao at third place in new rankings

Manny Pacquiao remains among the top names in welterweight boxing, as the World Boxing Council (WBC) again placed him inside the elite tier of the 147-pound division.

The December 2025 rankings show Pacquiao at No. 3 in the WBC welterweight listings.

Pacquiao’s sustained presence near the top of the standings underscores the organization’s recognition of his enduring skill and marketability even after a demanding comeback effort earlier this year. 

His July 2025 fight with reigning champion Mario Barrios ended in a majority draw, but Pacquiao’s performance kept him in contention among top welterweights globally.

At 46, Pacquiao is competing against younger challengers, yet his placement in the rankings shows the WBC still considers him a viable contender.

Despite the high-profile draw with Barrios, there is no confirmed next opponent. Still, Pacquiao’s maintained ranking leaves open the possibility of another major bout, provided he stays active and meets the requirements.

The updated WBC list also reflects strong performances from other Filipino and international boxers — underscoring the depth and competitiveness of the welterweight division heading into 2026.

Although Pacquiao’s next fight is yet to be announced, names such as World Boxing Association (WBA) world champion Rolly Romero, rival Floyd Mayweather Jr., and even retired world champions Vasiliy Lomachenko.
