Blacklist finishes with historic 4th place in KIC 2025

Blacklist International’s run at the Honor of Kings International Championship (KIC) 2025 ended in disappointment Friday night, as they fell 1–4 to Alpha Gaming of Malaysia in the Lower Bracket semifinals.

Despite the tough exit, the Codebreakers showed flashes of brilliance in the tournament after a significant win against European squad Twisted Minds 4–2 just a night before to clinch a historic Top 4 finish.

In that quarterfinal against Twisted Minds, Blacklist opened strong. In Game 1, Golden “Goldenk1te” Dajao secured a double kill on Arli that set up a swift Tyrant push and full ace for Blacklist.

Teammate Chammy “Chammy1” Nazarrea stood out with fearless teamfights, earning MVP honors.

Though Twisted Minds responded in Game 2, Blacklist regrouped and took Games 3, 5, and 6 after key plays from Justine “Juschie” Tan and Chazz Esguerra to close the series.

But the momentum couldn’t carry on against Alpha Gaming as the Malaysians dominated the first three games with precise rotations and deep hero pools. 

Game 4 offered a glimmer of hope as Blacklist surged with sharp executions, building an 11,000-gold advantage and finishing the match without conceding deaths. 

Goldenk1te’s final double kill during the crystal siege, and Chazz delivering a spotless 0-0-8 KDA on Lapu-Lapu.

Still, Game 5 ended decisively in Alpha Gaming’s favor, handing Blacklist their exit with a 15–2 kill lead. With that result, no Filipino squads remain in contention for the championship.

Finishing fourth and pocketing US $80,000 from a $1 million prize pool is far from the championship dreams the Philippine contingent had but it remains the deepest run a PH-based team has made at this global HoK event so far.
