Kevin Durant calls Michael Jordan his GOAT, dream interview

Kevin Durant has long been celebrated as one of the NBA’s most gifted scorers, but even the former MVP has his own basketball idol. 

In a rare moment of openness, Durant revealed that his pick for the GOAT is none other than Michael Jordan.

KD is not known for handing out praise to past legends. His interactions with former greats are often tense, like his heated exchange with Gary Payton last season, which makes his admiration for Jordan even more striking.

On the Up & Adams Show, Durant admitted he wants to interview MJ, calling him the standard of greatness.

“That’s the GOAT, man… that’s just the perfect basketball player. Perfect businessman… He was perfect, man — when it comes to basketball,” Durant said.

Now dabbling in podcasting, Durant said Jordan is the dream guest — someone whose basketball insight he wants to dissect.

“He has so much aura. He could say anything and it sounds perfect,” he said. “I got so many questions… I could go on and on.”

He added that he wants to ask Jordan about today’s playing style, modern sports science, and how the game differed during his era. 

MJ’s durability, highlighted by playing eight seasons of 82 games,  and toughness during the league’s most physical era, highlighted by the infamous “Jordan Rules,” have become defining parts of his legend.
