Bryan Bagunas stars in Japan SV.League debut for Osaka Bluteon

Alas Pilipinas Men Bryan Bagunas made a notable debut for Osaka Bluteon in the Japan SV.League, helping his team secure a hard-fought victory over the Nippon Steel Sakai Blazers in a four-set encounter in Wakayama. 

The win further cements Osaka’s position among the league leaders and marks a significant milestone for Bagunas in his professional career.

Bagunas, who had been waiting patiently since his signing, finally saw action after nine matches, entering the game during the second and fourth sets.

Osaka took the opening set 25–18, showcasing a well-rounded offensive strategy led by Japanese stalwarts Yuji Nishida and Shoma Tomita, who both finished with 13 points. 

Sakai bounced back in the second set, winning 25–20 and demonstrating the competitiveness of the match.

Bagunas’ entry coincided with Bluteon regaining momentum in the third set, which they captured 25–17, and ultimately closed out the match 25–18 in the fourth set.

The victory keeps Osaka Bluteon in contention at the top of the SV.League standings.

This debut marks Bagunas’ return to Japan, where he previously played in 2022, and represents a key step in his development as a professional athlete competing in one of Asia’s most competitive volleyball leagues.
