Filipina pro Shirazi leads Nova Esports to opening win in VALORANT Game Changers Championship

In a stirring return to the global stage, Filipino Valorant veteran Kelly “Shirazi” Jaudian reclaimed the spotlight as she helped Nova Esports GC notch a major win on Day 1 of the 2025 VALORANT Game Changers Championship in Seoul. 

On Bind in the first game, Shirazi set the tone by securing two opening-round picks through precise post-plant utility, giving Nova an early 2–0 lead.

Up 4–3, Nova broke open the map with a three-round run anchored by Shirazi’s site-anchor holds on B, stuffing two consecutive Ninetails executes with well-timed smokes and swing support.

With Nova leading 10–6, Shirazi delivered a momentum-shifting 3K retake, which paved the way for a comfortable 13–6 win.

On Haven, Nova and Ninetails traded rounds, but Shirazi’s disciplined anchoring on C slowed multiple fast hits.

Tied 6–6, Shirazi clutched a crucial 1v2, isolating both attackers with perfectly layered utility as Nova rode that momentum to an 8–6 edge. 

When Ninetails attempted a comeback at 10–9, Shirazi sparked the shutdown with a B-site 2K hold followed by a decisive rotate that sealed the 12th round.

Nova finished with a coordinated retake where Shirazi again provided the entry pick, securing the series sweep, 13-9.

The Filipina ended the series with 33 kills, 19 assists, and a +7 differential, earning some of the top combat impact numbers of the day.

After previously competing with Team SMG and Xipto Esports, Shirazi made a bold move this year by signing with Nova Esports GC, one of the top teams in China’s Game Changers circuit. 

That switch paid off immediately as Nova went unbeaten in both Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the China Game Changers league, securing their berth in the world finals without dropping a series. 

With the upper-bracket win, Nova positioned themselves strongly for the next rounds of the championship, but with their next test, G2 Gozen, being one of the tournament favorites.
