According to Opta, Messi has reached 400 assists in 1,113 appearances, while long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo sits at 259 assists in 1,269 matches. Messi has delivered 340 assists at club level, compared to Ronaldo’s 222, averaging an assist every 2.7 games—nearly twice as efficient as Ronaldo’s 5.0 games per assist.

While Ronaldo leads in total goals with 953, Messi remains close behind with 894, inching toward the 900-goal milestone.
