The Capital1 Solar Spikers continued their impressive turnaround in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference, sweeping the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in straight sets, 25–23, 26–24, 25–19, on Tuesday, November 4, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The win marked Capital1’s second straight victory, further establishing the young squad as a legitimate contender in the conference.

Rookie sensation Bella Belen, the top overall pick in the PVL Rookie Draft and a former UAAP standout from National University (NU), returned to the same venue that holds a special place in her volleyball journey.

It was at the Mall of Asia Arena where Belen led NU to three UAAP championships and captured three Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards—a run that solidified her status as one of the country’s brightest volleyball stars.

“Kahapon pa lang, niloloko na ako nila coach na home court ko daw,” Belen said with a smile after the match. “Kanina, sabi pa ni coach, ‘This is your home court.’ Naalala ko yung last game ko dito — may confetti pa. So very nostalgic siya for me.”

Although her numbers were modest this time, Belen still contributed 11 points before exiting midway through the third set due to cramps.

“Maganda rin ngayon kasi ibang team na yung kasama ko,” she added. “Pero same pa rin yung fire — yung love ko sa volleyball. Masaya ako kasi pagkabalik ko sa MOA, panalo kami, and straight sets pa.”

While Belen continues to adapt to the professional level, the 23-year-old has already shown flashes of brilliance that justify the hype surrounding her transition from the collegiate ranks.

With the win, Capital1 improved to 3–2, climbing to third place in Pool A and joining the PLDT High Speed Hitters and Farm Fresh Foxies in the next phase of the two-round preliminaries.

The Solar Spikers will look to sustain their momentum when they face the Chery Tiggo Crossovers on Tuesday, November 11, at the FilOil EcoOil Arena.
