Dwight Ramos once again proved why he’s among the brightest Filipino standouts in Japan as he powered Levanga Hokkaido to a statement weekend sweep over the Sendai 89ers, extending their win streak to three in the 2025–26 B.League season.

The Gilas Pilipinas stalwart was brilliant on both ends at the Hokkai Kitayell, tallying 18 points, three steals, and two rebounds in Saturday’s tight 87-85 victory before turning in an even more commanding effort the next day.

Ramos followed up with 19 points and five assists, and sealed the sweep in style — coming up with a game-winning steal and layup in the closing seconds of a 97-95 thriller. The twin wins lifted Hokkaido to 6-3, good for third in the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, Kiefer Ravena and the Yokohama B-Corsairs mirrored that success at home, completing their own two-game sweep over the Ibaraki Robots.

Ravena was steady throughout, posting nine points and two assists in Saturday’s 80-75 win before delivering another nine points, three rebounds, three assists, and a steal in Sunday’s 81-69 triumph as Yokohama improved to 4-5.

Ray Parks Jr. also made headlines in Osaka’s bounce-back effort. After a quiet outing in their 102-97 loss to Hiroshima, Parks responded with 18 points, two rebounds, an assist, and a steal to anchor Osaka Evessa’s 83-73 payback victory over the Hiroshima Dragonflies, helping his squad climb to 4-5.

In Okinawa, AJ Edu and the Gunma Crane Thunders split their weekend series against the defending champions Ryukyu Golden Kings. Gunma stole the opener 89-83, with Edu limited to just three rebounds in 19 minutes, before Ryukyu retaliated with an 85-81 win the next day. Edu showed his all-around potential in the loss, finishing with six points, four rebounds, four assists, four blocks, and one steal, though Gunma slipped to 4-5.

Rounding out the Filipino performances, Francis Lopez and the Fighting Eagles Nagoya endured a rough stretch, dropping both games against SeaHorses Mikawa at Sky Hall Toyota.

Lopez managed six points, seven rebounds, and a block in the 80-75 opener before being limited to four points and one rebound in the 89-73 defeat that dropped Nagoya to 3-6.

With Ramos leading the way, Filipino players continue to make their presence felt across Japan’s hardwood — blending talent, grit, and leadership in the B.League’s early season battles.
