Pacquiao – Mayweather II eyed for Netflix in 2026

It has been 10 years since one of the most anticipated fights in boxing history took place when Floyd Mayweather Jr. took home a unanimous decision victory against fellow boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.

The boxing world has debated on the real winner for years, with some believing that the Filipino boxer won the fight, citing Mayweather’s lack of aggression. Yet the real debate is about how the fight was originally years late, with both fighters past their prime when the fight took place

The debate will reach a new conclusion in 2016 as a possible rematch is being “seriously discussed” by Netflix, according to boxing insider Mike Coppinger.

“I am hearing from reliable sources that Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, yes, more than ten years later, a rematch is being seriously discussed to take place next year on Netflix,” Coppinger said on Inside The Ring.

“I think there’s a real possibility this is going to happen,” Coppinger added.

Pacquiao is the only active fighter left between the two, recently fighting Mario Barrios to a majority draw last August.

The Filipino icon has expressed his desire to fight for another world title in January, but has not yet had any success in finding an opponent.

Meanwhile, Mayweather, who retired with a flawless 50-0 record in 2017 after a high-profile bout against MMA star Conor McGregor, has fought in exhibition bouts against social media influencers as of late.

Mayweather and fellow boxing legend Mike Tyson are slated to face one another in an exhibition for Netflix next year.

Their first fight drew the highest gate in boxing history, and fans will surely be excited for a potential rematch despite the two boxers’ age and recent performances.
