The Philippines Girls Under-17 National Football Team crushed Malaysia to clinch a spot in the 2026 AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup at Pamir Stadium on Friday, Oct 17.
The Filipinas went unbeaten the whole qualification tournament with three wins, nine points, and allowing no goals conceded as they finished on top of Group A.
The game was a must-win for the Malaysians as they failed to garner a qualification, finishing second in the group with six points and two wins, while Syria and Tajikistan followed behind with three and zero points, respectively.

Luna Rivera drew first blood after six minutes with a tap-in, while Chiara Mizzo extended the lead in the 23rd minute with a left-footed strike, 2-0.

A fourth goal was awarded to the Philippines after Malaysia’s Nur Dani Batrisya accidentally scored off Filipina Loraine Evangelista’s cross, 4-0.
The win marks the second time the Filipinas will make an appearance in the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup. The first time was in 2024 when they made their historic debut in the tournament.
